Adtran Adds Ethernet Backhaul

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- ADTRAN®, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTN), a leading supplier of next-generation networking and communications solutions, announced today that it has enhanced its industry leading OPTI-6100® Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP) with the addition of Advanced Ethernet Modules to address growing Ethernet demand for mobile backhaul applications. This innovative Advanced Optical Ethernet solution eliminates bandwidth bottlenecks often encountered with traditional backhaul networks while maintaining the resiliency and synchronization capabilities mobile operators have come to expect. The OPTI-6100, when combined with the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access and Aggregation Platform and ADTRAN's industry leading HDSL solutions, delivers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions addressing Optical Ethernet, SONET, Ethernet over Fiber, Ethernet over Copper (EoCu), Ethernet over TDM (EoTDM) and T1-based backhaul options for both wireline carriers and mobile operators.
