Flat IP Architectures for Mobile Networks |
06/11/08 |
With a four-fold increase in data traffic in 2007, this Webinar examines key technology paths to the flat, all-IP, mobile network architectures. Driving demand is the wireless operators' desire to establish a significantly lower cost base that does not compromise end-user application performance |

WiMax Technology & Components |
06/26/08 |
As carriers across globe, including the US and Europe, start to move ahead with plans for WiMax networks, the availability and performance of WiMax components is becoming a critical issue. In this Webinar we take a look at the technology and challenges as well as the benefits expected from WiMax. We also review the latest developments as component vendors introduced second-generation WiMax solutions. |

Mobile Internet Gateways & Open Network Business Models |
07/08/08 |
Open mobile networks enable greater independence in the ways infrastructure, devices, and applications evolve, creating incentives for more participants to enter the market and invest in developing diverse applications. This Webinar looks at ways operators can use emerging mobile Internet gateways to enhance the performance of third-party and in-house mobile Internet applications. |

Multi-Standard Base Stations |
07/17/08 |
With operators running multiple generations of radio access technology, discrete base station equipment can quickly drive up cell site costs. The latest generation of multi-standard base stations offers savings in the form of space, power, civil works, and lower leasing charges. And with linecard upgrades to LTE, this equipment offers long-term investment protection.

3G Femtocells: Strategies for Network Integration |
07/29/08 |
Femtocell technology is emerging as an innovative, and potentially disruptive, way for operators to cost-effectively extend coverage and increase the capacity of their networks. This Webinar examines how operators can best integrate femtocells with their existing networks and effectively manage macro network inference.

Evolved EDGE for 1 Mbit/s Mobile Broadband. |
08/07/08 |
While technologies like HSDPA, WiMax, and UTRAN LTE tend to be the focus of mobile broadband technology, the evolution of the GSM standards isn't standing still. Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) already offers 384 kbit/s in the downlink, but with EDGE Evolved, throughput will be enhanced to 1 Mbit/s and then 1.9 Mbit/s. EDGE Evolved enables the GSM operator to leverage its installed base to secure mobile broadband throughputs throughout its network either in a pure GSM network or as a complement to higher-performing W-CDMA or LTE networks deployed in urban areas.

IP/MPLS & Ethernet in Cellular Backhaul Networks |
08/19/08 |
There's common consensus that IP/Ethernet provides the solution to backhaul networks in an era of rapidly growing mobile broadband traffic. But there are a multitude of different ways of deploying IP, MPLS, and Ethernet in the backhaul network in a way that meets the specific challenges associated with the operator's legacy backhaul network and aligns with its wider network development strategy. This Webinar will provide a detailed breakdown of the different approaches to combining some or all of these technologies and will examine those that are gaining traction and why.

Enhanced HSPA for Mobile Broadband |
08/26/08 |
Operators such as Telstra and Vodafone have committed to deploying Enhanced HSPA to offer speeds of up to 28.8 Mbit/s. This Webinar will detail how the infrastructure and terminal ecosystem around HSPA Evolved can deliver the high-speed, low-cost, low-latency performance that operators need to take the experience of mobile broadband beyond the first wave of "road-warriors" and onto the mass market.

Ethernet Microwave for Low-Cost Point-to-Point Connectivity |
09/11/08 |
New generations of point-to-point Ethernet microwave equipment are enabling operators and enterprises to derive the same autonomy in their network build that this technology has always afforded them, only now with much greater capacity and flexibility. From cellular backhaul to enterprise connectivity, Ethernet microwave products complete with new techniques like adaptive modulation offer new tools for the communications needs of public and private network operators.

All-IP Architectures for Wireless Networks |
09/23/08 |
With 3G data traffic growing at 400 percent annually, mobile operators require lower cost-per-bit and greater flexibility to create innovative end-user services. Vital to achieving this is the adoption of flat, all-IP networks in place of the hierarchical architectures that characterize classic 3G networks.

Bandwidth Management in Wireless Networks |
11/06/08 |
Wireless operators are discovering that "data isn't just data" when it comes to running data services over a wireless network. There can be a very substantial variation in the amount of signaling overhead on the air interface associated with one mobile data application as compared with another. Understanding these differences and then addressing them in both the network and within the user base is key to enhancing the profitability of mobile broadband services. |

Mobile Network Sharing: Reducing RAN Costs |
11/12/08 |
RAN sharing is about taking the costliest pieces of an operator's network—the cell sites and towers, the generators, base station equipment, and the transmission network—and sharing this infrastructure with competitors. By reducing duplication of network assets, operators can deliver enhanced services for less money. This webinar examines a range of RAN-sharing options from passive sharing of sites to active sharing of electronic equipment. |

Multi-Access Edge Gear for Mobile Networks |
11/18/08 |
Service provisioning gateways at the edge of the network have traditionally been standardized and deployed for one access network. Edge routers have served businesses, DSLAMs have served broadband DSL consumers, GGSNs or PDSNs have served cellular subscribers, and ASN Gateways have served WiMax subscribers. With wireline networks now demanding greater sophistication in the control plane and cellular networks requiring greater throughput to support mobile broadband services, the design requirements for these different gateways are starting to align much more closely. Functionality at the edge is starting to converge across different access networks according to several different types of business model. |
